The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (FCT Zone) invites you to the 2022 Abuja National Scrabble Open Tournament which will be held from Saturday the 1st to Sunday the 2nd of October 2022 at the Media Center Package A, National Stadium Abuja. Games start at 8.30 am on Saturday, the 1st of October.

Categories and Registration Fees

Categories are Masters, Intermediate, Veterans, and Open.

• Masters: National Rating from 1400 and above (Registration fee: N5000)
• Intermediate: Rating between 1100 - 1399 (Registration fee: N4000)
• Veteran: Over 55 yrs and Captains of Industry as approved by the NSF (Registration fee: N4000)
• Open: Rating below 1099 and new (unrated) players (Registration fee: N3000)

Females (regardless of rating/category except Veterans) registration is N2000.

Mode of Play/Rules

• No of Games: Total of 15 for each category ( 1 random, 11 lagged and 3 King of the Hill rounds) for all categories
• Game Rules: All Current WESPA & NSF Rules will apply during the Qualifiers/Grand Finale except otherwise stated.
• Time Allotment:20 minutes will be allotted to each player per round.
• Dictionary:Collins Scrabble Words Dictionary, 2021.

Registration and Payments

All intending players must register online by completing the registration form here latest on Thursday the 29th of September 2022 before 11.59pm (GMT Lagos/Accra). Registration would be validated only if the applicable registration fee is completed online during registration. Payments are accepted and processed securely on this website by Paystack. Click the link below and then click "Tournament Registration" on that page. Fill in your details as a registrant, then the details of the player(s) you want to register (you can register as many as 10 players at a time), ensuring you properly fill in their names and rating (if rated). Check female box if/wherever applicable. Veterans (as approved by the NSF) should check the Veterans checkbox and select their names in the drop-down menu that appears. Fees are automatically calculated. Complete your registration by paying the displayed fees on the next page. Payment may be completed using your credit/debit card (ATM card), USSD code, or direct bank transfer through Paystack. Instructions are on that page.
