The 2023 NSF Inter-Club Challenge Grand Finale will hold in Abuja as part of activities of the week-long 1st NSF Scrabble Festival Abuja from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th of March 2023.

Guidelines and Mode of Play

Game Rules

All Current WESPA & NSF Rules will apply during the Qualifiers/Grand Finale except otherwise stated.

Time Allotment

20 minutes shall be allotted each player per game/round.

Tournament Format

Qualifiers

Participating Clubs shall be drawn into 3 groups of 4 teams each. Five (5) Round Robin games shall be played in each group. Winner and the 1st runner-up in each group automatically qualify for the quarter-finals. The best 2 third placed clubs in the three groups shall also qualify for the quarter-finals.

Quarter Final

5 games (Round Robin) shall be played in the quarter-final pairings. Pairings for the QF are as follows:

• Winner G1 vs 2nd best 3rd  -> Winner QF1
• Winner G2 vs 1st best 3rd  -> Winner QF2
• Winner G3 vs 2nd  G2 -> Winner QF3
• 2nd G1 vs 2nd G3 -> Winner QF4

Semi Final

5 Round Robin games shall be played in each of the semi-final pairing. The pairing shall be as follows:

• Winner QF1 vs Winner QF4 -> Winner SF1
• Winner QF2 vs Winer QF3 -> Winner SF2

Third Place and Final

5 (five) games shall also be played in each pairing of the third place and final event.

• Loser SF1 vs Loser SF2 -> 3rd Place
• Winner SF1 vs Winner SF2 -> Champion Club
